The Year of Fruition: 2017

I usually have a end of the year message for the next year and here it is January the seventh.

The words that stand out clear in my mind is that...This is the year to avoid procrastination, moving into those desired callings that we have put on the back-burner.   Moving in the Holy Spirit will usher us into a season of fruition. In other words 2017 will become a "year of fruition." as we stand firm and "do" what God has called us to do. Even taking baby steps to get there determines the outcome of a great destiny! God may have ordained The Way...we need to see it and walk in it without procrastination...

To be honest, I really did not know the full meaning of fruition. What I found is three definitions that tie in on what I feel like God is saying to me, and I hope to everyone reading this:

1.  Attainment of anything desired; realization; accomplishment.

2.  Enjoyment, as of something attained or realized.

3.  State of bearing fruit.

When we go ahead and do those things we are putting on the back-burner, that becomes a accomplishment that can bring deliverance in our minds.  When we attain those dreams that we set out to do in the first place.... I believe that we can achieve those goals once we realize that if allowed can build up frantic burdens rolled up into one ball of wax. In other-words, underlying and undo stress...what we should have done and did not do! Check yourself, do some soul searching!!

We need to allow God to take off those blinders to see this is the supernatural year to bear fruit, to not put off those things until tomorrow because what If tomorrow never comes.

Procrastination is a tricky word. I have even heard myself say that this phrase that ,"I am waiting on God."   Well what if you heard wrong and God is not wanting you to wait. Maybe he is waiting for you to take a leap of faith before He can move on into the scene.

Finally I will say this, fear of the unknown will always bring us into a mind full of cobwebs. Get that junk out of you mind, so that it can be clear to make those quality choices that will allow us to bear fruit that will last for eternity.

Remember sometimes we do not have to take big leaps but small jumps.  It all matters in the grandscheme of God's plan

Here is a quote straight from Jesus:

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned

  1. This song was perfect for your devotion / blog Richard -- question, did you write your blog to go with this song or come up with your devotion first and ten find this song for it? Procrastination is something I think all people struggl -- some more than others. For me, There are certain things I reall am good at procrastinating at (the things I really hate doing) and others I am much more organized about; i guess those would be the things that I care about. But I need to learn to ask the Lord -- what are the things He cares about. What He really doesn't want me to procrastinate with are the things that are for "right now and today." The Lord said, "Today is the Day of Salvation" so we know He never wants us to procrastinate concerning being saved. I also believe, helping someone that God has put wihin our pathway that needs help (financially, spending time with them or whatever the need may be) is another thing He doesn't want us to procrastinate with as the Bible says: "We are our brother's keeper." There are some work-related things around the house that God might want us to work on but I think He cares more about spending time with our family members. However, I will say that I do believe God wants me to spend time this year (I will need Matt's help because of my back) to work on cleaning my room. Ha ha... No, Seriously, We never know, really know, what it is that the Lord wants unless we ask Him. Thank you so much for writing this devotion on fruition. I always like to pray for fruitfulness in people's lives especially at Christmas, the New Year and when someone is celewbrating another birthday. In your case you are celebrating a New Year and a new birthday all at the same time. Happy Birthday to you Ricahrd and Happy New Year with much of God's fruit to you as you work in the fields. Best wishes my friend! Lish

  2. John 15:5 is one of my favorite verses! God bless you in 2017.

    1. Thank you Becky. God Bless you too with a Happy New Year!

  3. Thanks for your kind words Lish. Some of the words of this song came to mind as I was writing this post. I felt that I should post it. Thanks for always encouraging my writing. Yes I did turn 53 on December 31. So far this looks like a good year for fruition! HaHa!
