Do Not let Fear Hold YOU Back!!

This morning the Lord spoke to me concerning fear and worry. I must admit it got really personal, because I heard God ask me a tough question and that is, "What do you fear and worry about the most?"

I was reminded of the scripture that I stood on for a very long time in my first years as a young believer,  and that is 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV.

"For I has not given you a spirit of fear; but of power, of love and of a sound mind."

There is nothing mystifying about that scripture. I looked it up to find out it means just what it says.  A lot of times we make something out of scripture that it isn't.   We just have to take the Word as the truth just as it is.

The one major setback I can think of is how many times I felt like God had given me prophetic "Words of Encouragement" during the Sunday morning service of my church, and I did not go to the front and give that word.  I worry that I am missing out on the purpose of God by not boldly sharing "His Word."

For me, the best definition of fear is the delay of action caused by the loss of courage that leads to procrastination over things you know you should do.  I pray I am not disobeying His voice. I sincerely do not want to do that...

"We should boldly move out on what He tells us. That is one way of distinguishing His voice."

Fear can be a paralyzing and disabling force that keeps us from experiencing the exuberance of walking or stepping out in faith..That just reminded me when I first got saved in 1982...When the benediction was played, I hesitated to get out of my seat and walk to the front of the church.   But I knew that what I had experienced was the greatest event of my life and I wanted to make a public display of my new faith. I remembered God telling me all I had to do was take the first step and He would help me the rest of the way. I set there in my seat and actually wrestled with the spirit of fear before I took that first step out of my seat. You know what, the rest was easy, I went to the front and told the preacher that I had said the sinners prayer and gave my heart to Jesus.

The first step to do anything for God is the hardest. There is no denying it. by the time we make the second step we know that God is there enabling us to walk in His steps, to be obedient to the leading of His Holy Spirit

A young bird would never learn to fly if His parent did not nudge him out of the nest.  God does nudge us but its our choice if we allow fear to control us... God not only wants to teach us to fly like a eagle but to soar across the sky as mature Christians!! He wants to teach us to walk in his son, Jesus who was full of the Father's faith in the Spirit... took the ultimate leap of faith!!

"Jesus was not scared to die for us, should we be afraid to live for Him?" He didn't walk in fear nor was He afraid to take our sins upon Himself!!

For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels. Luke 9:26 KJV

"Father in heaven, forgive us for being disobedient to your Holy Spirit. Help us to have the courage to do what You have called us to do and not to be ashamed to share our hearts in following You not only in action but in words as well.  Help us to remove all obstacles of fear and worry from our lives to walk and talk in your character and strength. Help us to summerge our lives in your supernatural faith to the point we will not hesitate to live for you in every area of our lives! In Jesus name we ask and pray, Amen."
