Courage to Continue...
That Godly principle in 1 John 1:9 applies to any Spirit-filled Christian. When we fall into sin and the Holy Spirit convicts us we should immediately bring that sin before God. Yes, confess it to Him and ask Him to forgive because sin separates us from having a personal and intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father. Forgiveness is a act of faith. We may not feel forgiven. It takes time, and a precious tender God through His Spirit to allow us to sense and know His forgiveness.
Sin is a ugly mess, and it doesn't matter what sin it is. There is no good sin or pet sins, there are all unappealing and quenches the Holy Spirit!!! I pray that the Spirit of God will reveal how He desires to wash our sins away, and to cleanse our hearts as white as the beautiful freshly fallen snow by the shed blood of the lamb of God. I don't believe our Father can look upon our sin. The Blood of Jesus not only covers our sins, but washes them away as if they never were there in the first place!! The Father in heaven can only see us because of the sacrifice of the Lamb of God. As we give our very souls unto Jesus, and allow Him divine access into our hearts, those areas where we fall into sin, The Father can come by His Spirit and wash those areas with the blood of Jesus. The veil of the flesh has been torn by Jesus...We can enter into the Holy Place because of the Blood!!! We should open our heart to Jesus. He is knocking at the door of our heart. Can you open the door and let Him in??
Jesus has literally taken back the keys of death and hell. Included in those keys is forgiveness of the sins of the whole world.
Falling does not mean that you are a failure. It should help us to realize that we we are not leaning on the Holy Spirit. You can cast all your worries and anxieties on Jesus...as well as our old way of life, and those old lies that satan tries to speak back upon us before we were believers. Those old lies are attempting to make us think we will never change and that we will never make it to heaven, mainly that we can never be forgiven of our sins...We have to learn not to fall for the devil's tricks. Yes, he is out there with his other minions doing everything he can do to destroy our Christian walk.
God's arm is never too short to save us and to catch us when we fall. God would never intentionally drop us. We make choices everyday to either come to him or slip into our old sinful habits--and that is exactly what old satan wants. There is a old song that says, "Even through there were times, I stepped out of His will, I've never been our of His care. God's love or care steps beyond our bad choices. He hears our heart cries and will save and deliver us from the enemies camp and put us on the road to freedom in Christ!!!
Wait upon the Lord and He will renew our strength!
